Objective.

To create a warm, trustworthy, & accessible brand identity & website for WiLift that clearly communicates their mission of providing cost-effective, reliable wireless internet to the communities of Mossel Bay. The goal was to demystify technology, build local trust, & make the sign-up process simple & approachable for residents.

Brand Identity: Friendly, Modern & Trustworthy

The brand identity needed to feel inclusive, modern, & reliable, breaking away from the cold & corporate feel of typical telecom companies.

Logo Design

Created a custom logo that combines the brand name with an icon suggesting upward lift, connectivity, & community. The mark is friendly & approachable, using flowing lines to represent network signals & human connection.

Colour Palette

Selected a warm & optimistic palette. A primary colour of bright green was chosen for trust & reliability, accented with a friendly light green to evoke energy, growth, & affordability, setting them apart from competitors who use colder blues & reds.

Typography

Paired a clean, rounded sans-serif font (for a friendly and modern feel) with a highly readable sans-serif for body text to ensure clarity in communication across all materials.

Iconography & Imagery

Developed a custom set of simple, illustrative icons to explain services & benefits clearly. Photography style guidelines focus on real people within the Mossel Bay community connecting, learning, & working.

Brand Application

Designed key collateral that resonates locally: flyers, & community noticeboard posters, ensuring a consistent & recognisable presence.

Streamlined User Journey (UX)

Wireframed & prototyped a seamless experience focused on the user’s main goals:

  • Coverage Check Tool: A simple, prominent address checker to instantly confirm service availability—the critical first step..
  • Clear Plan Comparison: Easy-to-understand tables that compare internet packages based on speed & price, highlighting the cost-saving advantage..
  • Simple Sign-Up Process: A low-friction, step-by-step form to apply for service or request more information..

High-Fidelity UI Design

Built a responsive website that embodies the new brand, featuring:

  • A Compelling Landing Page: Immediately answers “What is WiLift?” & “Are you in my area?” with strong visuals & clear calls-to-action..
  • “How It Works” Section: Uses simple icons & short copy to demystify wireless internet technology & the installation process, reducing barrier to entry..

Built a fast, mobile-first website (critical for users who may primarily access the internet via phone) on a user-friendly CMS, allowing the WiLift team to easily update coverage maps & plans.

  • Goal: Increase brand awareness and page followers.
  • Tactics: Targeted Facebook/Instagram ad campaign promoting a “What could you do with better internet?”.
